What Can I Expect During the Examination?
We will take x-rays of the treatment site or review any x-rays submitted by your dentist. Dr. Tehrani will then evaluate whether the gums, bone, or sinus cavities require additional attention.
Computed Tomography (CT) scans may be utilized in your evaluation. They offer the most accurate diagnostic x-ray imaging currently used in implant dentistry. CT scans are used to diagnose, analyze and devise treatment plans for implant surgery. CT scans provide very detailed, three-dimensional images that can accurately measure the height and width of available bone, as well as locate the nearby anatomic structures (such as the maxillary sinuses and mandibular nerves) that the surgeon must be mindful of during the surgery.
Additional diagnostics may be necessary to check the health of your teeth and gums, as well as your bite. Dental impressions and digital photographs are often incorporated to monitor and record your treatment.
